MATH:

• Daily math review (spiral math concept practice)
• Story problem procedures, key words, and practice
• Place value
• XtraMath facts practice

SOCIAL STUDIES:

• Map Skills and Geography
• hemisphere, continent, Equator, Prime Meridian, country, state, county, city
• cardinal directions (N,S,E,W)
• intermediate directions (NE, SE, NW, SW)

These first couple of weeks of school have been both fun and packed full of routine practice and curriculum implementation!

LITERACY:

• Comprehension:  check for understanding, story elements, back up and re-read
• Accuracy:  cross-check (Does it look right, sound right, & make sense?)
• Fluency:  Voracious reading, smooth and expressive voice, choosing just right/good fit books, 5 finger rule
  
• Expanding Vocabulary:  Voracious reading, tune into interesting words
• Daily 5 training and stamina practice on "Read to Self," "Read to Someone," and "Work on Writing"

GRAMMAR:

• Common and proper nouns
• Editing

WRITING:

• Daily journaling procedures and stamina
• Editing marks introduction/application
