S.P.A.C.E. Home Folders
(Student & Parent Academic Communication Everyday) Space cadets will bring their SPACE folders TO AND FROM school everyday. One side of the folder is for items that STAY AT HOME. The other side of the folder is for items to RETURN TO SCHOOL, including completed forms, homework, notes, and money (envelope for money included and intended to remain in folder). This folder helps space cadets responsibly communicate between home and school, and provides you as parents with easy access to notes and work intended for your attention. Please make sure you check folders EVERY night, taking out items to KEEP at home, and returning those items that need to be sent back to school. |
Mission Research (Homework)
In 3rd grade, routine academic practice is essential to mastering necessary skills and preparing for the responsibility of 4th and 5th grades. This year students will have clear and consistent homework routines that are expected to be completed and returned to school on the dates indicated. 1) Read nightly, record on paper reading log (calendar). 2) Complete 1 reading response activity per week. 3) Nightly math homework, plus XtraMath practice (1 round/night) 4) Differentiated spelling practice each week Additional projects or enrichment opportunities may come home throughout the school year. Instructions and details will accompany such tasks. |
Would you like to volunteer on our mission?
In 3rd grade, we aim to build independence within our students, so parent volunteers take on different roles than in lower elementary grades. Primarily, parents are invited to volunteer for special events such as class parties, field trips, school-wide celebrations, PTO events, and other needs as they arise. Opportunities for classroom project help may come up as the year progresses. If you are interested in taking tasks home or volunteering for specific help Mrs. Petlak needs (lamination, copies, etc.), please contact her via email. |
Planetary Parties We will have 3 parties this year: Halloween, Winter Holiday, and Valentine's Day. Captain Petlak loves planning our class parties and encourages parental participation, when possible. If you would like to assist Pilot Petlak with party details, please complete the registration by clicking HERE. |
